La Commission de recherche est composée de dix-huit membres dont l'ensemble des compétences couvre l'éventail des domaines de recherche pratiqués à l'EPFL. Au moins douze membres sont des professeurs ordinaires, associés, assistants, boursiers FNS ou titulaires. Le Président de la Commission de recherche est un professeur nommé par la Direction de l'EPFL. Les membres sont nommés par la Direction de L'EPFL, sur proposition du Président.
