The EFPL Research Commission in shortStructure of the EPFL Research Commission The Research Commission is an official body of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) with well-defined SNF-related duties. It also act as an advisory board to the EPFL direction for matters related to research. Members of the Research Commission The Research Commission is comprised of eighteen members whose global competences span all fields of research at EPFL. Mission Statement The Research Commission promotes academic careers in Switzerland, as well as the quality and image of research at EPFL. Tasks of the Research Commission with Respect to the SNF The Research Commission informs EPFL researchers of the various incentive measures proposed by the SNF. SNF Fellowships for Prospective Researchers. The Research Commission grants stipends for prospective researchers in accord with the SNF regulations. SNF Fellowships for Advanced Researchers. Upon request of the SNF, the Research Commission examines proposals for advanced researcher stipends and provides recommendations. Tasks of the Research Commission with respect to the EPFL The Research Commission advises the EPFL Direction on the following items:
The Research Commission establishes regularly a prospective report on ongoing research at EPFL for the EPFL Direction. The Research Commission establishes rules regarding ethical behaviour of EPFL researchers. Scientific events and awards The Research Commission actively participates in the organization of the annual EPFL Research Day, as well as in similar events which promote research at EPFL. It selects the research prize awardees according to the specific regulations of each prize. News Letters |
